An increasingly popular request is for fast-turnaround edits of multi-camera events. Traditionally, each camera was recorded individually (“iso recording”) on to tape or to separate computers (e.g. a laptop with Final Cut Pro) or separate hard drive systems (e.g. AJA KiPro NanoFlash). This meant that you had to ingest the footage from tape post-event or copy the data from separate computers or drive to one place before editing could begin.
Our innovative new solution allows 4 streams of SD or HD SDI (with embedded audio) to be ingested simultaneously on to one Apple Mac Pro computer. And the biggest benefit? The editor can actually edit the footage live, as the footage is still being ingested.
Benefits:
- eliminate ingest time (it is recording in real-time as the event is live)
- dramatically reduce turnaround time for edit (from perhaps 1 or 2 days to hours)
- footage recorded in Apple ProRes for high quality editing and post-encoding
- new 12-core Mac Pro allows for super-fast render times
