We try to run the business as carbon-friendly as possible. We want to protect the lemon and lime trees for future generations. Here are some of the measures we take:
- Print as little material as possible – we try to keep everything online using a low energy computer server and network
- Recycling as much paper and cardboard as possible
- Recycling all plastic bottles and drinks cans
- Recycling padded envelopes and include the following message on outgoing mail using such envelopes: “We hope you are not offended if we’ve used a recycled envelope. It’s one of the things we are doing to protect the environment. Please join us!”
- Re-use packing materials from incoming supplies
- Resolve logistics to avoid the unnecessary use of couriers, and combine materials to be dispatched on same-day couriers
- Switch off all computers and monitors at night
- Installed low energy tubes in our workshop/storage area, utilising infra red movement sensors to ensure they switch off when no-one is using the space
- Our staff are encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint, and to use bicycles, scooters or other low emission vehicles to get to work
- We do not own vans, as each job requires a different size vehicle. We always rent the smallest van necessary to satisfy the job or use our own cars.
